the beginning

photography has always influenced me, i just didn't always realize it. my dad taught me from a young age to love the beauty around me. i've tried just about every creative outlet there is, skipping through the ones that weren't for me and lingering on the ones that were. in high school, i became heavily involved in graphic design and ended up the yearbook editor. i loved it. i created a book full of design and colors of my choice and worked closely with the photographers in the next room. i vividly remember instructing them to take more candid shots instead of friends posing towards the camera with their arms around each other. my first semester of college was spent studying graphic design. i eventually moved on through about a million other majors, but my love for art, design, and beauty has always remained a passion of mine. now that i have children, i find myself designing less, and picking up the camera more. i want to record the beauty around me instead of creating it so to speak. now that i finally have a "nice" camera, i'm ready to take on this new adventure. it's pretty intimidating to me, but i'm excited to learn along the way. and boy, do i have a lot to learn!

  1. this is awesome!!! yay for you. you know the market for photographers is pretty saturated right now. some pros think it's "annoying" but i think it's great, because the majority of them are moms who've realized - hey i can do this, i am already doing it, why not become better at it? so yay for you. best of luck! and if you'd like some help, you should check out my photography tutorials at brown paper packages (http://brownpaper--packages.com/).
